Tina Turner, the 'Queen of Rock 'n' Roll', has died peacefully in Switzerland
Tina Turner, one of rock's extraordinary entertainers and most charming entertainers, has died at 83 years old in Switzerland.
"Tina Turner, the 'Sovereign of Rock 'n' Roll' has kicked the bucket calmly today at 83 years old after a long disease in her home in Kusnacht close to Zurich, Switzerland, her representative has affirmed.
They added: " She leaves behind a music legend and role model for the world.
The US-conceived star was one of rock's extraordinary entertainers and most alluring entertainers. She was known for her electric in front of an audience presence and a series of hits including The Best, Pleased Mary, Confidential Artist and What's Adoration Have to Do With It.
Together with her ex-husband Ike Turner, she achieved fame for the first time in the 1960s by performing the classic song River Deep, Mountain High.
The singer's solo career saw a decline in popularity in the 1970s, but in the 1980s, she signed with Capitol Records, which helped revive her career. A hit front of Al Green's We should Remain Together prompted the Confidential Artist collection in 1984 - which proceeded to sell in excess of 10 million duplicates and laid out her as a super star.
